Kimber Hopkins- President
When I lost my dog, Emily, I volunteered with the HSWC for over six years. In that time, I adopted five dogs. I was the Volunteer Coordinator, Events Coordinator and Foster Coordinator (dogs). After Emily's death, it awakened a sense of helping the homeless and in need animals in our area.
Claudia Buckmaster- Vice-President/Treasurer
I love rescue because I believe every animal deserves a chance in life. I have 4 rescue dogs, Lexi, Schatzi, Coby and Buddy. Two of them Lexi and Buddy are my Foster failures, but when love strikes what can you do but adopt.
Conni Marshall- Secretary
It is such a great feeling to see a dog united with a forever home. I foster and help with Emily's Legacy Rescue because I see what a difference it has made in so many lives.

I had always thought about fostering having loved (and spoiled) animals my entire life. I found my passion when I joined Emily's Legacy Rescue. The joy of having your foster find his or her forever home outweighs the heartache of having to give up your foster.

When I was around ten years old, I wanted to grow up and be a veterinarian. I would rescue animals and bring them home. Currently my home is surrounded with furry friends that at one time were rescued. Volunteering for Emily's Legacy makes me feel like I'm helping keep animals alive one heartbeat at a time.
